Thomas Winter received a degree in psychology from the University of Freiburg, where he specialized in clinical, pedagogical, and industrial and organizational psychology. For two years he worked as a clinical psychologist at a clinic in Davos, Switzerland. Thomas got into the life sciences industry while working in Human Resources for a Swedish retailing company. He is a well-known expert in the field of aptitude diagnostics for life sciences clients.

In 1999, Thomas joined the team at RSVP Consultants AG in Frankfurt as a consultant. He moved on to be Senior Consultant of Business Development and Project Management helping to fill numerous international senior executive positions. In 2005, he relocated to London to join the RSA Group. He then returned to Frankfurt, where he established the Operational Executive Search Business in Germany and Switzerland.

Since 2009, he has worked to strengthen the team of the Mediatum Group with his experience, starting as Partner and Executive Director in Switzerland; two years later he was appointed Managing Director at the Head Office of Mediatum Germany in Heidelberg.
