After receiving his degree in biology, Wolfgang Bender received employment with the German subsidiary of the Pall Corporation, the market leader for separation and filtration engineering in the pharmaceutical industry, where he filled several different positions in sales and marketing. He later moved on to join the team of the medical publishers Urban & Vogel. He led the Marketing Division for the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.

In 1997, Wolfgang founded and successfully ran an enterprise offering professional services near Frankfurt. After selling the company in 2000, he joined a professional executive headhunting firm in the healthcare, medical technology, and life sciences industry and excelled in filling executive and specialist vacancies in these fields.

In the beginning of 2006, Wolfgang joined the Mediatum team in Heidelberg and since then has been successfully assisting companies in the life sciences industry in hiring the most suitable talent for their leading positions. In January 2011, he was appointed Managing Director of the German subsidiary.
